Is all inclusive worth it? How to compare all inclusive holidays
All inclusive can be brilliant value — or an expensive way to eat buffet food you don't love. Here's how to decide, and how to make sure you're paying the lowest price.
Work out your daily spend
Estimate what you'd spend per day on meals, snacks and drinks. For families and drinkers, that number often beats the all inclusive supplement.
Read the small print
Check bar opening hours, whether branded drinks are included and if à la carte restaurants cost extra.
Compare the same board basis
A half board price isn't comparable with all inclusive. Make sure every quote is for the same hotel, room and board.
Scan before you book
The same all inclusive hotel is often sold by several UK travel companies. Scan it to see who's cheapest once extras are added.
